At work today we had the Calgary Oil "BIG WIGS" up visiting and they put on a presentation for us. The presentation outlined what happened in the area here where we are working (about 25 mins south of Dawson Creek, BC) and explained what they have in store for us in 2009. With all the economic uncertainty, they are still planning on going ahead with the expansion on the site I am working on right now and work towards the next stages of their plans for this area as well.

To fill you in, this area is very rich in natural gas. The Construction Manager for the oil company we contract for said that even at the current price in which natural gas sits at today (5.21) it is still economically possible to continue on. They say that this area is a 30 year plan for them and putting it on hold may hurt them down the road when things recover. They want to remain in a strong position looking to the future.

Anyone who has worked in the oil and gas industry know that this could mean nothing. They could close the gates tomorrow and put things on hold for an indefinite amount of time. This has already affected thousands of workers across western Canada. This is the exact reason I am doing what I am doing.

I do enjoy my job. I do enjoy the people I work with. I don't particularly enjoy working away from home so much but I can handle it. The MAIN REASON though, for wanting to create freedom for myself is because of the instability a person has with a job. That's right.... INSTABILITY!

Our society has lead us to believe, if we put in years with a company or at a chosen profession, we will gain stability which then provides comfort. DO NOT GET COMFORTABLE PEOPLE!
We are starting to realize this isn't the case anymore but what I have found, in my life and in other peoples lives I am close with, is that we are not sure how to create wealth or financial freedom other than working 45-55 years and putting as many pennies in the bank as we can during that time. Has that worked for the generations before us? I work with a 72 year old man! 72 YEARS OLD!

I don't know his financial status. Whether he chooses to work because he wants to or if he HAS to is not my point. My point is he is still working. In fact, I find it more disturbing if he chooses too. If this is why, his life has created a working habit, because of his original goal to make money. He has spent hours, years, DECADES chasing that goal only to realize that he doesn't know what else to do with himself once he has succeeded.

I don't know about you but I could think of a million things to do and all of them don't require me "punching in!"

This is important! To have a clear picture in your minds eye of what you want or what you want to experience will drive you through those tough days, or situations you will face as you travel down your path to freedom. It's absolutely imperative you KNOW where or what you want for yourself and those you love. This goes back to the post I made on DESIRE!

Tomorrow I will share what my vision goals are! My end dream of what I want for me and my family.

As for today's activities, I am continuing to create my network for my real estate investing. I now have contact with 6 investors across Canada. I also have a mortgage broker who I am meeting with on Thursday night to discuss what I hope to accomplish and I also have made contact with a real estate agent up here as well.

Looking ahead, if I can accomplish my goals in Dawson Creek, British Columbia, then anyone can do it from their hometown as well. There are some strong fundamentals in the area and I will talk about how to recognize and look for these indicators as I walk you along the process with me. I will post comments after my meetings with these professionals.

Finally, I am proud to say that after a 2-step interview process, I was offered a position in author, Robert Allens' new challenge: "Enlightened Millionaire Challenge". For the next year I will be coached by some of the most successful professionals in the real estate industry. Every one of them at least a millionaire themselves. Obviously I am quite excited and look forward to working with Robert Allen himself. The most exciting part is I get to take the ideas, examples, strategies and methods they teach me and pass them along to you. I hope you truly understand the significance of that!

Hey Everyone!

Last night's mastermind discussion was GREAT! I wasn't sure what to expect really but after the first 10 minutes and going through everyone's introduction, I knew it was going to be an amazing group. There were people from Indiana, New York, California and in different locations across Canada as well. After a bit of a slow start, Chris, the leader of our group, created a very open and comfortable atmosphere.

For all of you who have not picked up the book, "Think and Grow Rich", I would recommend it above all other books. This book should be read as a textbook! It will create a foundation for you to build your wealth on. It helps create the initial millionaire mindset required to create wealth in all areas of your life! Whether it's money, or relationships or whatever you're searching for in life, this book will show you how to get it!

After reading this book, it inspired me, and taught me how to change everything that I wanted to change in my life. It took all the pain and sorrow from me and allowed me to become happy and content. I was once again excited to be alive and found myself looking forward to a new day instead of dreading it.
