Part 1 of the Process

a) Consumables/Perishables (food, entertainment, fuel, etc.)
b) Depreciating assets (clothes, furniture, decorating, etc.)
c) Education/Business (Things that are expected to produce return)
2. List the assets you currently have
a) Cash on hand & in banks
b) Savings Accounts or Retirement Accounts
c) Stocks & Bonds
d) Real Estate Equity
e) Automobile Value
f) Other Personal Property
g) Other Assets
3. What is the total of all your assets?
4. List your liabilities
a) Accounts Payable
b) Notes payable to Banks and Others
c) Installment Account (auto) Monthly Payment
d) Installment Account (other, Monthly Payments)
e) Mortgage (current balance)
f) Unpaid Taxes
g) Other Liabilities
5. What is the total of your liabilities?
6. Subtract the Liabilities from your Assets to calculate Net Worth. What is this amount?
Doing this will give you a good idea of where you are now financially. This will provide a basic guage to measure your progress as we proceed. Obviously the idea is to increase our Net Worth.
Another Important factor is to look at our internal script (attitude) towards money. Proceed to the next exercise.

Healthy ME - Day 1
I apologize up front if I miss a day along the way but here we go....
Woke up at 4:30 am this morning and rode the bike for about 10 mins. Then I took my multi-vitamin and my pre-workout drink (Superpump 250) and got my butt down to the gym. Like I said, I'm not starting from scratch and I do have some know how here but, I have a split training routine. Today was Chest and Biceps. My routine was as follows:
Flat Chest Flies
- 12 reps @ 40lbs
- 10 reps @ 50 lbs
- 10 reps @ 55 lbs
Bicep Curls (EZ Curl bar)
- 12 reps @ 40 lbs
- 10 reps @ 50 lbs
- 8 reps @ 60 lbs
Incline Dumbell Press
- 12 reps @ 40 lbs
- 12 reps @ 45 lbs
- 12 reps @ 50 lbs
Hammer Bicep Curls
- 10 reps @ 20 lbs
- 10 reps @ 25 lbs
- 10 reps @ 25 lbs
Dumbell Pullovers/Ball Push ups
- 10 reps @ 45 lbs / Push ups until failure
- 10 reps @ 45 lbs / Push ups until failure
- 10 reps @ 45 lbs / Push ups until failure
Incline Bicep Curls
- 10 reps @ 20 lbs
- 10 reps @ 20 lbs
- 10 reps @ 20 lbs
And then I feel like puking!
This whole workout, the chest exercise is immediately followed by the bicep exercise and then immediately followed by an ab exercise. You then take 30-45 seconds rest and continue on to the next set. For beginners, take 90-120 seconds rest but really try to push yourself.
After the workout, I take a protein shake because your body needs it to aid in the repair of the muscle tissue you have destroyed while training.
As for the rest of my menu, I will post more on this later...
PS.... My Chest is killing me!

I'm also going to be taking the opportunity here to share my journey to a healthier me as well. I know it's about 5 or 6 weeks late but the new year is a year filled with resolutions. A very popular and often failed resolution is to get into shape. Now... yet again, I am not starting from scratch here, in fact, I'm not in that bad of shape but what I do know some about is living healthy and getting into shape. I am going to give myself a 10 week time frame to get in the best shape possible.
It's like I always say, "start the day with a success, and let it carry you through the rest of your day!" Once you make that choice to live a healthier lifestyle, you will find more energy and excitement which will carry you through other successes we will work towards as well. Let's work together to improve our financial and physical shape which will, without question, improve our mental shape as well.
So... every day, as a part of my posting I will tell you exactly what I have done to improve my physical well being. I encourage people to share any workouts or recipes or success stories to help motivate everyone out there! Together, let's make 2009 the best year ever!

Today we're going to start mapping out our personal finances. I won't be giving my actual figures, for obvious reasons, but I will go through the process so we can all get an idea of where we are so we know what our starting point is. We will be going through the basics for a 30-day quick start guide to financial freedom - Personal Finances.
I will post part one of the process later...
